Almost every Christian knows that Jesus fed 5,000. But few know that he later fed 4,000.
Mark 8:1-10 (Also found in Matthew 15:32-39)
The multitude was very great.
Jesus (to his disciples): I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now been with me three days, and have nothing to eat: And if I send them away fasting to their own houses, they will faint by the way: for some of them came from far.
His disciples: From where can a man satisfy these men with bread here in the wilderness?
Jesus: How many loaves do you have?
Jesus commanded the people to sit down on the ground.
Jesus took the seven loaves, and gave thanks, and brake,
He gave to his disciples to set before them.
The disciples set them before the people.
They also had a few small fishes.
Jesus blessed, and commanded to set them also before them.
The multitude ate, and were filled:
They took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets (full – Matthew 15:37)
They that had eaten were about four thousand (men, beside women and children – Matthew 15:38)
Jesus sent them away.
Jesus entered into a ship with his disciples.
