Mark 6:53-56 and John 6:22-27(Also found in Matthew 14:34-36)
This passage is rarely noticed. After Jesus walked on water, the boat landed at Gennesaret.
53] And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore.
54] And when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knew him,
The people immediately recognized Jesus.
22] …when the people which stood on the other side of the sea
(those who were still in the area where Jesus fed the 5000)
saw that there was no other boat there, save that one into which his disciples had entered, and that Jesus did not go with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples went away alone;
23] (Howbeit there came other boats from Tiberias nigh unto the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given thanks:)
24] When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also got into their boats, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus.
25] And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when did you come here?
26] Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.
Jesus did not answer their question. But he was clear about the intent of their heart. They sought him because he filled their bellies.
27] Labour not for the meat which perishes but for that meat which endures unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
55] And the people ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.
56] And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.
The news of the miracles that Jesus performed were proclaimed throughout the countries. Many had heard of the woman who was healed when she touched the hem of Jesus’ robe. They wanted to touch his garment. ALL who touch it, were made whole.
